William Owen Blodgett, Jr., better known as Bill or Billy, was born December 9, 1955 in Bisbee, AZ to William O. Blodgett, Sr. and Gertrude Blodgett (Kuhn). He passed away on January 25, 2021 in Kirtland, NM. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Allen Blodgett, both of his parents, and his wife of 34 years Sherry Blodgett (Myers). He is survived by his sister, Lura Ishmael (Blodgett). He was a loving father to his children Cassie Gilfert (Blodgett), Kellie Tillerson (Blodgett), Lee Blodgett, and stepsons Wayne Sexton, Shawn Brusin, and Timothy Brusin. Bill was a proud Grandpa to 15 grandchildren: Alyssa, Noah, Jacob, Lily, Abbie, Malachi, Isabella, Aurora, Aubryn, Rhiannyn, Laikyn, Cole, Jay, Gage, and Calee. After graduating from Bisbee High School in 1973, Bill proudly served in the US Army as a SP4 Small Arms Repairman and spent time overseas in Germany and Cambodia. He then went on to receive his Associates Degree from San Juan College in Farmington, NM. Bill was the local UPS driver and Union Steward in the Kirtland, NM area for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter and could often be found in the mountains scouting, hunting, and fishing. Bill and Sherry bred and raised show rabbits and were active 4-H leaders for many years. His love of rabbits was passed down to him from his father. Bill could make, build, fix, and create anything! He did his best to pass his skills and knowledge on to everyone he met, namely his kids and grandkids. In his later years, he took to caring for his Boer goats and his dogs, Maggie and Grizzy Bear. All will agree that "Wild Bill" was one of a kind. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
